Shana D. Weir grew up in Las Vegas and since 2017, she has been splitting her time between Las Vegas and Washington D.C. While working full time as a secretary in a law firm, Ms. Weir also attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas (at night) part-time where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and minor in Psychology in 2001. After taking a year off, she buckled down and attended five consecutive semesters of law school and interned for U.S. District Court Judge James C. Mahan. Ms. Weir graduated from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California in December 2004.
Ms. Weir has significant litigation experience representing builders, subcontractors and product manufacturers in complex class actions and multi-party construction defect cases; and cases involving construction contract interpretation, payment disputes, and old litigation. She has litigated on behalf of, and against, homeowners associations regarding the interpretation of CC&Rs and statutes governing common interest communities.
Ms. Weir represents several governmental and quasi-governmental agencies and political parties, advising them on a wide variety of issues pertaining to compliance and litigation. She also practices in the field of election law, advising clients on State and Federal campaign practices and campaign finance laws. She worked Election Day operations in Nevada and served as litigation counsel for a Presidential campaign.
Ms. Weir volunteers her time as a member of Animal Legal Defense Fund’s pro bono network. She was a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Las Vegas Defense Lawyers. While she served as its community service chair, Ms. Weir started the annual “Adopt a Family” Christmas charity drive that is continued today.
Ms. Weir is licensed in all courts in the State of Nevada.
